It was a fair and cool night on May 11th, 2024 as country music singer
Brooke Moriber took the stage at the famous Bitter End in Manhattan.
It was not the first time or will be last that she has graced the floor
at the legendary venue. Brooke has been in the entertainment game for
some time now. She began her journey initially as an actress in theatre
on Broadway where Brooke landed the role of Young Cosette in Les Misérables
at eight-years old, but music was tugging at her in many ways.
After a scary issue with her eyes that sidelined her for a while, she put
in motion to share her experiences of how powerful the human spirit is via
songwriting. It did not take long for her to begin landing gigs at local
venues like the Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, and Mercury Lounge. Brooke
was on a road to building up her talent when she performed at Jones Beach
concert series and opening for the Gin Blossoms at the Wellmont Theater.
She would top this off by belting out the national anthem at Madison Square
Garden during the New York Knicks game.
"Opening for the Gin Blossoms was a thrill for me. I love performing
on a huge stage and that was the first show since I had done a Broadway
musical where I felt that high of seeing that many people in the audience.
Sheryl Crow has always been such an inspiration to me as a woman in this
industry and she's such an incredibly talented musician, so it was such
an honor to be part of that event especially as we were honoring Willie
Nelson for his charitable support for rescue horses."
A new opportunity came into play for Brooke when she was invited by an LA
- based label executive to travel there for a possible venture. She would
end up working with a few artists and writers that were in the pop genre.
It was an exciting experience, but her heart was in country music. As fate
would have it, she met a film producer who was the brother of Nashville
record producer Fred Mollin in LA. Mollin had worked before with the legendary
Linda Ronstadt who was also one of Brooke's music idols. After this introduction
it led her to recording her first track in Music City thanks to Music Row
publishers. Nashville became her second home for working on her music with
New York being her first.
In 2019 she released her first full-length album, "Cry Like A Girl"
which brought praise from Parade Magazine. This was when she began booking
shows at Nashville hot spots like The Bluebird, the Listening Room and The
Local. The success of "Cry Like A Girl" initiated her signing with Nashville's
Reviver Records. In New York she was welcomed at famous venues like the Bitter End.
"Well, the interesting thing is that The Bluebird is known for singer
songwriters performing in a "writers round" storytelling style, but
New Yorkers never really get that experience so I decided to put together
a show called "Nashville in New York" at The Bitter End where we bring the
Nashville experience to New York City. The audiences are a little different
for this reason but it's an equally thrilling experienced perform at either one."

Brooke has been inspired by many artists, notably Brandi Carlile, Jennifer
Nettles, Ingrid Andress and of course Linda Ronstadt. But she is eclectic
when it comes to music she enjoys as she was first influenced by Hip Hop,
90's R&B and even grudge. In addition, being that she got her start on
Broadway a musical theater power ballad hits home as well. As we mentioned
earlier, she recently performed at the Bitter End on May 11th which is a third
installment of a new bi-monthly Songwriters in the Round series called "Nashville
in New York (NINY)". She was joined by prolific songwriters Phil Barton, Victoria
Banks and Randall Fowler. The series is presented by Music Choice and sponsored
in part by Kicker Performance Audio, Suerte Tequila and Taylor Guitars.
She recently released a new single entitled "More Love" which can be found
on all music platforms. Three of her past singles "Little Bit of You", "Half
A Heart" and "Down to Nothing" were all on Spotify’s New Music Friday Country
as well as Sirius XM's Velvet, CMT online, Music Choice Network and the Music
Row Country Breakout radio chart. On the horizon Brooke is busy in the studio
working on new tracks for Nashville Reviver records. Her newest single "This
Town Made Us" is due out this coming September. The new single hits home for
her since it embodies honoring hometown pride and a "never give up" attitude
which derived from the 2020 tornado that ripped through Nashville and the
pandemic that hit both her homes New York and Nashville. In June she will be
heading back to Nashville to work on new music as we mentioned. Also, on July
20th she is looking to return to New York and continue her "Nashville in New
York" series. Brooke has proven to be a determined artist who wants to keep
climbing the Country Music ladder to the top one beat at a time.
